The survey methodology which produces this data was originally developed for Department of Defense projects to profile the civilian workforce in locations where military installations were considered for closure. Corporate site-selection clients then assisted in modifying it to produce the workforce data they need when considering new locations for business operations. The identical methodology has been employed in the workforce analysis for each of the locations listed.
